Suzette’s Maternity Shoot

I have known Suzette for a long time as I used to teach her Rhythmic Gymnastics many years ago and she used to coach with me.  Suzette was also one of my eight rhythmic gymnasts that I took on a tour to Toronto, Canada, in 1998 to take part in a competition hosted by some of my very special Canadian friends whom we had hosted on their tour in 1997.  Suzette is married to Nico Olivier and they have a boy, Sam and a girl Bella, plus their very precious and special adopted son Josh who has just started high school this year. They are a wonderful family and have loads of fun. Suzette is extremely fit and I was totally amazed how agile she was during the shoot.  This is a family very close to my heart and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time with them all and cannot wait to meet Rebecca when she arrives in about 10 days time. Crazy love – Jess & Dan’s Engagement Shoot

A couple of weeks ago I did a really fun Engagement Shoot with Jess & Dan. Take a look and you will see what I mean.  I used to teach Jess Rhythmic Gymnastics about 10 years ago when she was in Primary School.  She has always been full of fun so I knew that her Engagement shoot would be something different.  Loved every minute of this shoot! Easter Special

Our April competition is for all 5 – 6 year olds, boys and girls. You can win an hour photoshoot with 10 High Res images on a CD. All you have to do is email the name, age and date of birth of the child plus the parent’s contact details to laurettesphotography@ gmail.com before the 30 April 2013 and allow me to use images from the shoot for my website, blog and Facebook pages.

A Photo per day for March 2013

Well the third month of the year, March, has already arrived and for me it is a very special month because my late sister, Tanya Swanepoel (who died of Ovarian Cancer) was born on the 16th of March, plus my late aunt who also died of cancer, a very prevalent disease nowadays.  It is also MSA (Multiple System Atrophy) Awareness Month, a rare degenerative disease which one of my very precious friends was diagnosed with a couple of years back. Her name is Sonja and you can read all about her journey with this disease on her blog. So I will be trying to include in my month of March many aspects of the journey that our loved ones and friends go through when they are stricken with these diseases.

While out with the dogs today, I looked up and saw this beautiful cloud that looked like a feather reaching out across the blue sky. I thought of all my family and friends who have suffered and are still suffering with terminal diseases, whose lives are so delicate, like a feather, that they have been, and could be, taken away from us in a split second, which inspired me to write these words.
