In just under a month my hubby and I will be photographing and videoing one of our South African Paralympian Heroes, Hilton Langenhoven, at his wedding to his beautiful fiancé, Agnetha Jeftha. My sister, Tanya Swanepoel, who passed away in 2006 of Ovarian Cancer, was a good friend of Hilton as well and he told me that she was a wonderful mentor to him when he first started taking part. Hilton and Agnetha met in 2011 at a Sporting event hosted by the minister of Sport at the time. The athletes returned from the World Championships and a tea was arranged for the Western Cape athletes. Agnetha was working at this event and Hilton saw this girl in the room and told himself that he I needed to chat to her. They then made small conversation in the lift and 7 months later they met again through a sports event where Agnetha happened to approach Hilton and asked him to be a mentor for the Western Cape team participating in the SA Games and after that engagement, he saved her contact number. Returning from SA Games they stayed in touch, and during December 2011 they had more frequent chats and he asked her if she’s seeing anyone. In January 2012 he invited her to his flat in Stellenbosch, to watch a Liverpool match, a team they both support. After that he invited her for the best milkshake in town, then for lunch… and after that… let’s just say…. the rest is history….! I recently did their Engagement Shoot and here are just a few photographs from that shoot. Hoping that you will enjoy looking at them and come back once I have photographed their wedding as well. I loved working with them both and I am really looking forward to shooting their wedding on the 29th November 2014.
