Ten days ago I spent a wonderful couple of hours photographing the Christening Tea of little Jan-Bernard, whose parents had asked my hubby and I to travel to Riebeek Kasteel to record this special event for them. The trip there was absolutely wonderful with all the vineyards and wheat fields creating beautiful landscapes and the tea with its scrumptious eats and wonderful people just made the trip even more worthwhile. They have a big family and most of the family and friends wanted to have a photo opportunity with the little man of the hour.  The grandmother did an absolutely magnificent job of organising the decor and the food, and everything looked beautiful in her lovely home.

The vineyards and wheat fields on the trip to Riebeek Kasteel.

Part of the decor were these paper birds hanging from the ceiling which were handmade.

Okay, so we need to do this to record this for the future when I am old enough to realise I WORE A DRESS!!!!  Eeek!!!!

Hey there Jan-Bernard, lets go out and play!!!

Zzzzzzzzzzzzz A man needs his sleep!  Pure and utter bliss!!!!

Ag no man …. we are so bored because our little playmate has gone to sleep again!

I suppose I have to resort to eating my fingers because the lovely eats are not meant for me!

Thank you all for coming to celebrate with me today!

So when can I go to sleep again?

Aw shucks dad!

Now if you point that thing at me one more time I am going to …. call my dad!

Still haven’t been offered any of those delicious cakes and things!!! So this is what I have to resort to … eating my fingers!!!!

Amazing how my eyes just start to water at times when I am unhappy!

Jan-Bernard holding Jannie’s finger. I just wondered what they would say one day in about 20 years from now!

And so after a wonderful time we said goodbye and on the way back home there were more beautiful landscapes to photograph of our magnificent part of the world.
